Arroyo Seco Physics Institute - IFAS

The "Arroyo Seco" Physics Institute (Instituto de Física Arroyo Seco, IFAS) was founded in 1983 to allocate part of the research activities in physics within the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas of the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. IFAS is located in University Campus, nearby the city of Tandil (Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina).

IFAS comprises 8 research groups working on both theoretical and experimental physics, with special emphasis on applied and multidisciplinary problems.

Currently, the staff is formed by 44 members, including researchers and doctoral students. A technical personnel in the fields of mechanics, chemistry, electronics and informatics gives support to the research activities.

Most of the researchers belong to the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences of the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, where they teach both undergraduate and graduate courses.
